Hello to all Potterheads! We all love our Harry Potter books, don't we? We all know that the movies created based on the books are amazing and that a lot of hardwork and dedication was put in by all of the cast and crew. Most of you might be wondering how the Wizarding World is separated from the Muggle world. One of the most asked question is,
'Are there any unofficial border lines separating the two worlds?'
As you know, in the wizarding world they are living in the same locations as in the muggle world such as Bristol, Kent, Romania and Bulgaria, yet in the muggle world those places are already occupied by the muggles.
So where are those places that exist in the wizarding world?
Well, we are here to answer just that...
The simple and most obvious answer is magic. The Ministry of Magic ensures that all wizard/witches dwelling places are unplottable and charms are placed upon them to ensure that no muggle strays into these places.
The International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy establishes that the Ministry of Magic must hide the presence of the magical community from unrelated parties (Muggles with no connection whatsoever).
This, however, doesn't mean that Wizards are isolated from the Muggle community. They just can't reveal the existence of the magical world.
We can prove this because of the existence of Grimmauld Place in London. Just by placing a few enchantments on it, Muggles do not know of its existence. The author has tried to impress this coexistence of muggles and wizards in many books. The main reason that these charms work so well, is because Muggles are deemed ignorant and easy to manipulate.
Some families have lived in areas with Muggle presence. Most notably, the Black family in Grimmauld Place. Another example would be Privet Drive (Mrs.Figg is a squib).
Here is an excerpt from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix:
"Harry thought how absurd it was for Tonks to expect the dummy to hear her talking so quietly through a sheet of glass, with buses rumbling along behind her and all the racket of a street full of shoppers. Then he reminded himself that dummies couldn’t hear anyway. Next second, his mouth opened in shock as the dummy gave a tiny nod and beckoned with its jointed finger, and Tonks had seized Ginny and Mrs. Weasley by the elbows, stepped right through the glass and vanished. Fred, George and Ron stepped after them. Harry glanced around at the jostling crowd; not one of them seemed to have a glance to spare for window displays as ugly as those of Purge & Dowse Ltd; nor did any of them seem to have noticed that six people had just melted into thin air in front of them."
This excerpt proves that the Muggles simply took places like this for granted and that there obviously were enchantments placed upon various places in the Wizarding World.
